Reading the Schedule

Most BKRA players will be on the ice on average 2 times per week - usually one practice and one game, and sometimes one more of either (and possibly 'dry-land' practices in the gym). Our Bunnies and Learn to Skate players will be on the ice 1 time per week. Note: Coaches may also call extra outdoor practices or other team events, none of which will be posted on the BKRA master schedule. These will be communicated to you directly by your team manager or coach once the regular season begins.

On the BKRA website schedule, you need to check three columns – Category, Visitor and Home.

For games, the category will state the age group (Novice, Atome, etc.) and the Home/Visitor will say which of our teams are playing. Where we have only one team, it will state “BK” but if we have two teams then it will be either BK-1 or BK-2. For example, for a Novice C2 game, you will find NO-C under “Category” and BK-2 under Home or Visitor, depending on where the game is being held.

For practices, the “category” field will be left blank. This is because for most times you will find the ice is shared between two teams. In this case, you need to look at just the Home and Visitor fields, where you will find the teams listed. For example, if Atome C1 and Benjamine B1 are sharing ice for a practice, you will see AT-C1 in one column and BE-B1 in the other.

2016-2017 BKRA Ice schedule

  • Sundays 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 Kirkland Arena

If you are registering your daughter for other activities, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays are generally not ringette nights within our association and so are a safer bet. Games are played during BKRA ice time AND other association's ice times, so they could come up throughout the day either Saturday or Sunday.

The game schedule is known for the entire year, at the start of the main season (around mid-October). The practice schedule is produced in 3-4 week intervals and posted on the website, and/or distributed via team automation software.

All teams get the same amount of practice time, regardless of the level.
